Global Sources (Hong Kong, Oct 27-30) saw reasonably impressive traffic at a time when visitor attendence to exhibitions and events in Hong Kong and even Shenzhen has been hindered by the ongoing protests in Hong Kong.  The media coverage of the protests not surprisingly detered some foreign visitors.

 

The exhibition benefitted from being co-located with Global Sources' gifts, lifestyle, consumer electronics, and mobile electronics fairs. 

 

Nonetheless, exhibitors said that business was slow.  The fair caters to small to medium sized brands and retailers, many coming from other Asian nations and Australia.  Regardless of what nation they came from, most said retail was slow and that they were being even more cautious with their buying.

 

The fair featured a variety of apparel and accessories category - from activewear to bridal, and including shawls, socks, footwear, sunglasses, and bags.
